Casa Tres Hermanos
(The Big Wave House)

The Big Wave House is a beautiful property located in Playa Guiones, the house was one of the first to be built in the area. It consists of 5 bedrooms, 5 full bathrooms, 2 half bathrooms, living room, kitchen, and a small apartment with a distribution directed towards its gardens, achieving privacy and beautiful views of the spaces. Due to the age of the house and its proximity to the Ostional Wildlife Refuge, the remodeling had to contemplate an improvement of the existing structure in a comprehensive manner, without expanding its existing area and trying not to impact the refuge.

The remodeling was carried out with an approach of relative simplicity by maintaining the main structure almost in its entirety; but with great challenges mainly at the level of electromechanical installations, which were already obsolete. The decision was made to redesign and update the entire electrical and mechanical system, a new improved septic tank was installed that allows the reuse of water for irrigation of the gardens. Low energy consumption luminaires and low water consumption toilets were installed. Likewise, the house has the necessary provisions for the installation of solar panels. The pool was refinished, resealing the walls to prevent leaks.
